“When I think back even just six years, there was a lot of movement built into my life. For instance, I had run two half-marathons; a couple times a summer I would kayak the 16km loop around my island; many springs I would move five yards of dirt into the drive; and I was overseeing cottage renovations and then a new cottage build.

Life changed when I began taking care of ill parents. If you’ve done it, or know someone who has, you know how disruptive and all-consuming it can be.

About three years ago, I began working out at Inspira with Chas. Initially, I would go to the gym early in the morning twice a week. Since Covid, it’s been three times a week, with me in my basement and Chas in the studio. It can be a pain getting up for a 7am session, but Chas keeps the routine varied for interest and to work my different muscles, even with the limited equipment of a basement ‘gym’.

Even with the challenges of an older body, I am stronger and more resilient. I have lost the weight I put on during Covid, and I’m on track to keep losing.

We have also added weekly weight coaching sessions. These conversations are guiding me back to being on track and accountable to myself. My nutrition and knowledge of what to eat are generally good, but Chas helps me to sharpen those skills, pay attention and actually follow through with execution. It’s so easy to eat that one cookie; have two helpings at dinner; not pay attention to body hunger versus body want. One little change at a time, based on my habits and priorities — versus a generic plan — is setting me up for success.

One-on-one bespoke coaching

Are you looking for something different, something that is unique to you and something that offers you precisely the level of individual support and accountability that will help you reach your goals and optimize your health? Let us help you build your own, individualized coaching program. These programs are developed using our three phases of exploration, outlined below.

Phase 1:
Discovery

We kick-off our individualized coaching plans with a series of thoughtful questions that encourage you to reflect on your life as a whole and to assess which areas may hold room for growth. Clients often find this exercise of contemplation to be rewarding in itself as it can lead to insights about what is motivating the desired change. This phase can ultimately be thought of as a research session during which we establish preliminary priorities for the coaching relationship.

Phase 2:
Design 

Working together, we use the insights drawn from the discovery phase to articulate a vision of what would constitute a healthier and more balanced lifestyle. We draw on the power of past successes and struggles, uncovering motivations and determining what structures you rely upon to achieve results. We devise a path that anticipates obstacles, overcomes barriers and moves you step-by-step towards your goal. The empowering nature of this exercise ensures that you are invested in the success of the process.

Phase 3:
Delivery

We offer several tiers of practical support to help you on your journey, but all ensure you develop positive, sustainable habits through an app-based adherence program. Daily practices are repeated and reinforced until they become second-nature. We provide accountability, support and solutions. When you get stuck, we are there to help. Problem-solving, brainstorming, keeping a focus on the “why”. That’s what we do. So you’re not alone.
